Robert Kelker-Kelly, an acclaimed actor recognized for his prominent roles in daytime dramas like "Days of Our Lives" and "General Hospital," passed away from natural causes, according to the medical examiner's official ruling. He was 59.
Circumstances Surrounding His Passing
On the evening of October 3, Mr. Kelker-Kelly's wife, Allison Kelly, picked him up from the Spirit of St. Louis Airport around 7:30 p.m. During their drive home, the actor reportedly experienced discomfort, complaining of pain in his chest and left arm. He requested that his wife pull the vehicle over so he could vomit, as detailed in the official report.
Ms. Kelly inquired if her husband wished to be taken to a hospital, but he declined, instead asking to be driven home to rest. Upon their arrival at their Missouri residence, Mr. Kelker-Kelly changed his clothes and got into bed. His pain persisted, and he requested an aspirin from his wife.
When Ms. Kelly returned from the kitchen, she discovered her husband unresponsive and no longer breathing. She immediately contacted emergency services by calling 911 and initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
St. Peters police and the St. Charles County Ambulance District arrived at the residence shortly after 8 p.m. Despite paramedics' efforts to administer lifesaving measures, Mr. Kelker-Kelly was pronounced deceased at 9:09 p.m.
According to the report, Ms. Kelly informed investigators that her husband had no known pre-existing medical conditions and was not on any prescription medications. She also stated that he had not sustained any serious injuries or undergone surgery in the preceding year.
"Mr. Kelly had reportedly complained of chest pain shortly before becoming unresponsive, and the circumstances appeared consistent with a medical event," police stated.
The St. Charles County Medical Examiner's office released Mr. Kelker-Kelly's body without requesting any further investigation into his death, the report indicated.
